Stitch Fix #3: Shimmery Velvet, Cozy Tops, and Should I Keep It All?

We've been getting a lot of packages delivered to our doorstep lately. We split an Amazon Prime membership with my parents and have done nearly ALL of our holiday shopping that way. Between gifts for the girls, shopping for each other, and gifting for family members, we've ordered a LOT of things online. Among the 3 packages that were delivered to our house yesterday was the one I was MOST excited about - a Stitch Fix package! (Yes, I was most excited about this for selfish reasons, but I'm allowed to indulge myself in this season of giving, too!)
If you have never heard of Stitch Fix (<--- referral link!), allow me to enlighten you! Stitch Fix is a clothing subscription service that sends you 5 pieces at your decided frequency. You pay a $20 styling fee every fix, which ultimately is put towards the cost of whatever items you keep. (Right now, however, if you sign up using my referral link, your styling fee is waived!!) If you end up keeping all 5 pieces, you actually get a 25% discount! You can choose from Automatic Fixes (every 2-3 weeks, every month, every other month, or every 3 months) or do On-Demand fixes. I usually choose On-Demand fixes, but my stylist has been doing such an amazing job that I'm contemplating changing to monthly fixes. When you sign up, you'll fill out a detailed style profile that includes things like your sizes, style preferences, how you like things to fit, and budget. They offer "regular" sizes, petite, AND maternity sizes as well as accessories, bags, and shoes! You can let them know what you do and don't want to receive in a Fix. For example, I don't really need any more jewelry, so I simply tick the box that says I don't want to receive any of that in my Fixes. For each Fix, you can leave your stylist a note if there is something specific you're looking for, and this helps to choose more applicable pieces for you. Stitch Fix isn't just for the ladies - they have it for the gents, too! Unlike when you are shopping at a store, your Fix is delivered right to you so you can try everything on in the comfort of your own home and see how it goes with what you already have in your wardrobe. Included in your fix are these cute little cards for each item that give you styling ideas, which I love! They also send a postage paid package so when you decide (it has to be within 3 days) what you want to keep and what you want to send back, you just check out online and then put whatever you're sending back in the package and put it in your mailbox. Easy peasy! Another awesome thing about Stitch Fix is that when someone schedules their first Fix through your referral link, you get $25 in credit to use on your next Fix! Um, can you say awesome? For this Fix, again, I feel SO bad for my stylist Ashley because I had a TON of requests. The number of characters available in the note to your stylist is limited, otherwise I probably would have written more. Sorry, Ashley! I asked for all tops and one pair of pants. For the tops, I wanted some cozy sweaters that I could wear on the weekends but also maybe to work. I also wanted a dress. I asked for a piece or 2 that I could wear on Christmas or Christmas Eve to church or family get togethers. I requested things in jewel tones. Oh yeah, I wanted her to stay low in budget too. Like I said, Ashley had her work cut out for her. Luckily for her though, this time around I did a better job of keeping my Pinterest board updated, so I pinned a TON of ideas for her. Ashley CRUSHED it this Fix. I knew once I peeked at what she sent, that this might be the first Fix that I keep everything!
Now, without further ado, let's get to it. Help me decide what to keep, what to send back, and if I should keep it all and take advantage of the 25% keep everything discount! Also, please excuse the hot mess hair in the pictures, because you know, momming happens, and this is the best it's going to look at 7:30pm on a Monday night.
DJ & JUJU Josie Cowl Neck Knit Top
MIX BY 41 HAWTHORN Middleton Ponte Skinny Pant

I'll be wearing the pants in the following couple photos, so I obviously love them! They are so so comfortable. They are much more structured than leggings in terms of material, so I can definitely dress them up for the holidays, or down for everyday wear or work. You can't see it in the photo very well, but they are a nice dark navy color, which is a great neutral staple for my wardrobe! They are SO comfortable and have an elastic waist, which at this point is comfortable for me since I still haven't lost my baby tummy. So the pants look like a regular pant, but have a more forgiving waistline.
And this sweater - oh my heart this sweater! It is SO soft. It's perfect for layering, or alone if I'm in a place where the temperature is a bit warmer. It's a plain grey, but again, a great neutral! The price point is FABULOUS for a sweater, and because it's a bit lighter, I'll be able to wear it in the fall and spring as well, not only during the winter. For the winter though, like I said, I can layer with another shirt underneath, or thrown on a chunky scarf to warm it right up. I also like that it's a tunic length, so if I do want to wear it around the house or running errands, I can throw on a pair of leggings and it still covers my bum.
I'm thinking these are both a definite keep, because they are so comfy and the price point is, well, on point. What do you think?
PIXLEY Leonna French Terry Bell Sleeve Knit Top

I had pinned a slew of bell-sleeved tops to my Pinterest board, so was not surprised in the least for this to come in my Fix, and I'm oh so glad it did! It's hard to see in the photos, but you can tell a bit more from the screenshot how fun these sleeves are. The shirt itself is navy and cream (sorry, kitchen lighting isn't the best), so it goes well with the MIX BY 41 HAWTHORN Middleton Ponte Skinny Pant, but would also look great with a colored pant or jeans. I could throw a bold scarf on with this outfit for a pop of color too! Like the first sweater, this top is closer to a thin sweater material than a knit top, so is nice and cozy for the winter.
I think this one is a keeper as well, what about you?
HUMMINGBIRD Liara Velvet Knot Front Knit Top

I'm seeing velvet EVERYWHERE this holiday season, and pinned this shirt in a different color on my Pinterest board, saying I'd love to try it in any color (and I LOVE the price point on this one!). This rose color is GORGEOUS! It's paired again here with the 41 Hawthorne Pant, but I love that this top can be rocked with jeans and a cute pair of booties as well for a Mom's Night Out with my girlfriends or a Date Night with Dan. It doesn't need a whole lot of accessorizing either - maybe a bold statement necklace to add some pizzazz, but it's got texture and knotting that gives it a bit of ooomph without needing to add much more. I wasn't sure how this would hit my hips, and I'm still a bit undecided because it feels a bit boxy, but I think with the right pants and shoes, it would look great. What are your thoughts? Keep or send back?
VIXBE Lolita Cold Shoulder Dress

This is the only holdout I have in this Fix - and it's not even a definite no, it's just not a resounding yes. I love that it's VERY different from anything that I currently own - I'll admit, the jury is still out for me on the cold shoulder look. When I saw it was coming, I was not incredibly thrilled, because it seemed a bit summer-y to me. But the more I looked at it, the more excited I was to try it on, and I definitely cannot argue with the price, especially for a dress! The only qualm I have about this dress is that it's a bit, shall we say, form fitting in the stomach. If I don't make an effort to constantly flex my abs (which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing!) or suck in my gut, I might get questioned if I'm pregnant again - which I am not! I just have a mom pooch. I think a good pair of control top tights or Spanx would probably solve that problem, and it gives me a bit more incentive to work out so that come spring, none of the undergarments that "keep everything in place" in the stomach area are needed. I could easily wear this on Christmas Eve with some opaque tights, a scarf and a cardigan to stay warm, but then also wear it in the spring for something like a wedding for example.
What do you guys think? Yay or nay?
Overall, I'm head over heels for this Fix. I'm on the fence still with the dress, and possibly the velvet top but if I keep all 5 items, it comes to a $59 discount, which is essentially the price of the most expensive item in the Fix. When I look at it that way, it seems almost silly not to just keep everything if I'm undecided about one item and almost sold on the rest. But I really want to hear what you think!
What would you keep, and what would you send back? What works and what just isn't for me? Help me out!
